چکیده
The connection of renewable energy sources (RESs) to the distribution network has been rising at a steady pace over past decades. great penetration RESs such as grid-connected photovoltaic system brings new technical challenges networks unintentional islanding. Conceptually, this situation occurs when portion that isolated from main grid remains energised by embedded RESs. This unexpected scenario should be thereby identified effectively avoid frequency and voltage deviations their hazardous effects. aim paper is provide comprehensive review on recently developed islanding detection methods for grid-following/grid-connected system, analyse existing limitations, suggest possible future research implementations. In context, an in-depth comparison provided considering features used in non-detection zone, time, implementation cost complexity, power quality degradation. Finally, requirements established current codes are recalled identifying potential multi-functional approaches expand capabilities.
